Privacy Policy
How simplemoney-tools.co.uk and the free tools linked from it handle information.
This page is a draft, not legal advice. It's written to be cautious and honest about what this site currently does, but it has not been reviewed by a qualified solicitor. Have this reviewed before relying on it. The Personal Dashboard Pro Chrome extension, which handles a read-only connection to a third-party financial account, has its own dedicated privacy policy.
This website
This website (simplemoney-tools.co.uk) is a static set of pages with no user accounts and no server-side database. It sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or tracking.
The contact form does send a real message. The name, email address, topic and message you type are submitted to a small handler on this site, which emails them to SimpleMoneyTools1@gmail.com and keeps no copy — there is no database behind it. That email is then held in an ordinary mailbox for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry. Your address is used to reply to you and for nothing else: it is not added to a mailing list, not shared, and not sold. To keep automated abuse down, the handler briefly notes a one-way hash of the sending IP address so it can count recent submissions; it holds nothing that identifies the sender and is discarded on its own.
The "register interest" newsletter form is still a placeholder and is not connected to an email service — submitting it does not send or store anything, and the form says so. This section will be updated to name the service used before that changes.
The free Budget Tracker
The Budget Tracker is a downloadable Excel file. Once downloaded, it runs entirely on your own device — Simple Money Tools does not receive the figures you enter into it.
The Personal Dashboard Chrome extension (free)
Personal Dashboard is designed to run locally in your browser. Bookmarks, watchlist tickers and settings are stored using Chrome's local extension storage on your device. Live data such as weather and crypto/stock prices is fetched from third-party providers as needed to display it; Simple Money Tools does not operate its own server that logs this activity.
Personal Dashboard Pro
Personal Dashboard Pro is the paid edition of the free Personal Dashboard extension above — everything in the free extension stays exactly as it is. Pro adds two entirely optional, read-only integrations (Trading 212 and Strava), both off by default until you choose to connect them.

In short: there is no account and no server-side user data; credentials are stored on your own device only, never synced and never exported; neither integration can write to, trade on, or otherwise change your account; and a one-click "delete all local data" control is free for every user. The dedicated page sets out exactly what each integration requests, what passes through the API proxy, and what never leaves your device.
What we don't do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not request full account credentials for any integration — only official, read-only API access where offered.
- We do not display fabricated figures where real data is unavailable — an unavailable metric is shown as unavailable, not guessed.
Cookies
This static site does not currently set its own cookies. If analytics is added later, this section will list exactly what's used and how to opt out.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. This site holds no personal data beyond the contact emails described above and whatever your own browser stores locally, so in practice there is little to request — but if you have written in and want that email deleted, ask and it will be.
